Christmas Festivities and a Fresh New Start

Bonjourno!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This year wasn't like the normal Christmas I would have - for the first time ever I didn't return home and spend it with my family. I was lucky enough to spend it with my boyfriend's family, who are all super nice and very welcoming to me. Normally, I would go home (I live in Lancaster and my family all live back up in Newcastle - can't say I miss the accent!) have Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve night with my mum, then spend the majority of Christmas Day handing out presents and finding a nice bar to have a chilled out drink in. This has been the way for as long as I can remember it - my mum always said she never had time to cook on Christmas Day because we always had so much to do, especially when the turkey she cooks takes 12 hours and weighs around 22lb!

So this year was the first in a long time that I wasn't woken up at 6.30 to see if Santa had been - which he definitely had in my house! And for once in a long time I enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner on Christmas Day, and a chilled out Christmas film night with a well deserved glass of wine.
The presents I recieved were absolutely amazing - from Mac make-up (something I've wanted for a long time but just couldn't afford) to new hair tongs, chocolates, an array of Disney DVDs to Girl Online by Zoella (a must have!).

In the time between Christmas and New Year, I came to a conclusion, one that most of us have around this time of year. For a long time, I have been very unhappy with the way that I look. I know that most of us feel this way just after Christmas, when we've eaten our weight in turkey, chocolates and various other yummy festive foods. But because this issue has bothered me for a long time, I've decided that this new year, I am going to do something about it.

And this is where I invite you all to join me on me on my getting healthy journey.

I've decided to join a local weight loss group, in the hope that the support and motivation from there will help me to stay on track with finding recipes that are healthy, as well as motivating me to start exercising. I have also found the Couch to 5K challenge, which can get you from being a couch potato (like myself) to running 5k or 30 minutes within around 10 weeks,
If I can accomplish this, I know I will be able to feel healthier and happier within myself, which is something that I've always wanted.

So, stay tuned for updates (whether they be good or bad!), and I hope you can all support me in my weight loss journey.

Ciao for now!

Let's start at the very beginning...

... A very good place to start!

Bonjourno! I have decided to start my very own blog with the inner ramblings of my very confusing brain. It's been on my to-do list for so long, but since it's half term this week (a whole week free of screaming children, weee!) I've decided to finally get things up and running.
I've seen many blogs that have inspired me, such as SprinkleOfGlitter and Zoella, both of which I am massive fans of. If I can even get one person to read this then it's already a massive success!
I hope my ramblings will inspire some of you to start your own blog with your own ramblings - stay tuned for some thoughts on curvaceous fashion, affordable beauty and the life and times of an everyday teaching assistant from Lancaster.

Ciao for now!
